Hackney Wildlife is a voluntary organisation run by trained environmentalists and naturalists to promote and protect the nature in the urban borough of Hackney in East London.

Hackney contains a surprising amount of open space in the Lea Valley, parks and reservoirs. The group aims to provide educational facilities with schools and community groups to make people aware of the environment that exists on their doorsteps.

Content management system: Currently a journal system allows daily sightings to be added together with images.

Technology: A MySQL database holds the site content and the javascript prototype and scriptaculous widgets handle the display of the images.
